NAMI-NYC Metro’s half-hour cable television program, Mental Health Update, covers important mental health issues and gives advocates, consumers, family members, and agency officials a place to voice their concerns and share their experiences. Mental Health Update aims to educate viewers on a wide variety of mental health issues, and, at the same time, refute many of the myths and reduce the stigma that sometimes attach to mental illness. The show is hosted by Easy Klein.
Mental Health Update airs on MNN (Manhattan Neighborhood Network) public access stations throughout Manhattan. It airs on the first Monday of the month at 7:30 pm on Time Warner channel 56 and repeats on the fourth Sunday of the month at 9:00 am. It is also shown on RCN, but the channel number varies with the kind of cable box you have.
Mental Health Update welcomes your feedback, comments, and content and guest suggestions. Please email your comments to Easy Klein.
The Mental Health Update production crew is primarily NAMI-NYC Metro volunteers who are intensively trained by MNN. Opportunities to serve on the crew arise from time to time, after applicants are certified by MNN. For information on training, call MNN at 212-757-2670.
