NAMIWalks NYC March Madness Brackets Are Here!

We can't advance to the final round without teamwork! In the NCAA, they call it the Final Four. At NAMI-NYC Metro, we're shooting for Four Fours. Let's  get our donations to $140,000 by Wednesday! If we all raise $44.44 each, we'll get there!

We're facing off to raise the most funds and recruit the most team members throughout the month of March. Two teams - one in recruiting, one in fundraising - will be crowned winners in our championship final drawing and win a team pizza party!

Team Captains -- take the lead on recruiting team members and reaching out for donations to your NAMIWalks NYC effort! While you're watching the nail-biting NCAA games, send some team recruitment emails and take your borough to the next round!

All walkers -- take a moment to donate to yourself, if you haven't yet, and send out your fundraising emails. With the holidays coming up, it's the perfect time to reach out to your friends and family.

We'll be having our annual kick-off party the second week of April. Come out for a quick bite and let us know you're supporting NAMI-NYC Metro again this year. At the party, we'll announce the March Madness team winners.

Wanna come from behind and be a buzzer beater? Watch our Google Hangout on team building. We also have a fundraising guide online, which you can read here.

What is NAMI Walks NYC?

The 5K Walk and Run route begins at the South Street Seaport Promenade. Walkers travel over the Brooklyn Bridge and back to the Seaport for a concert and wellness fair, along with activities such as free massages, yoga, basic health screenings, raffle prizes, and more!

As the largest mental health Walk in New York City and the most prominent mental health education and fundraising effort in America, NAMIWalks brings together thousands of passionate individuals and supporters to celebrate recovery from mental illness and to help raise funds, combat stigma, and promote awareness.

NAMIWalks NYC, now in its 9th year, benefits the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI-NYC Metro), founded in 1979 and the largest NAMI affiliate in the nation. We serve New Yorkers who are hardest hit by mental illness, including communities of color, low-income communities, veterans, and women. Proceeds will fund no-cost support, education, and advocacy services for New Yorkers impacted by mental illness.

This year’s Walk will include our Mental Health Fair featuring mental health service organizations. We will also be hosting an "I Will Listen" concert, featuring artists from “Songs to Break the Silence,” an album written by NYC musicians hoping to break the stigma associated with mental illness.
