NAMI-NYC Social Groups
Starting October 1, 2025, NAMI-NYC will no longer be hosting its social groups (full list below). This decision was not made lightly, as we know the value and community these groups provide, and as peers and family members enjoy and benefit from them as well.
We now have about 40 support and social groups, which require extensive staff support and volunteer coordination. Following a period of rapid growth and a difficult financial climate, we are working to be as strategic and intentional as possible in how we spend staff time and resources.
For both newcomers and long-term members, our hope is that you are already involved in other support groups and NAMI-NYC programs. NAMI-NYC will continue to be here for you no matter what.
Our Helpline will be available for any questions or support, including if you’re looking for alternative social activities.

In-Person Update: In alignment with industry-standard security practices, all visitors and guests of 307 W 38th Street (where our NAMI-NYC office is located) are now required to check in and present valid photo identification to the lobby guard before gaining entrance. To ensure a seamless process, please remember to bring your ID when visiting our office to attend in-person programming.Individuals who do not have valid photo identification will be required to wait until a NAMI-NYC staff member is available to meet with them in the lobby. The NAMI-NYC team appreciates your understanding and cooperation with this new process.
