During this month, we aim to raise awareness of programs and resources at the intersection of mental health and the AAPI community.
NAMI-NYC has two peer-led support groups for adults who identify as Asian American—including South, East, Southeast, North, Middle East—and Pacific Islander. You’ll get support, share coping strategies, and learn practical information. All our groups are led by trained volunteers with lived experience, in an environment of mutual respect.
The AAPI Support Group (for peers) is on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, 6-7:30 PM and AAPI Family & Friends (for family members and loved ones) is on the 1st Wednesday, 6-7:30 PM. These groups are free, currently virtual, and confidential. Both groups are offered in English.

Our Helpline – offered in 180 languages — provides callers with support, information, and referrals to community services and other resources. Staffed by trained volunteers who have lived experience with the NYC mental health system. Most Helpline callers are family members looking to support their loved ones. Call 212-684-3264 or email helpline@naminyc.org.
We always match on relationship and diagnosis AND we can match other elements like cultural background because we know how much those impact understanding and connection. Learn more about our Family Match program.
All programs are completely free regardless of income, insurance, or immigration status.
Join NAMI-NYC and Korean Community Services on Monday, May 19 for this Community Fair to learn about mental health, ways to rest and recharge, and more. Reserve your spot.
