My name is Adam Ciarleglio and I live with my partner in Washington, DC, where I am an assistant professor of biostatistics at George Washington University. I’m a life-long runner and am excited to be a member of the NAMI-NYC 2022 NYC Marathon Team! As a biostatistician, I primarily collaborate with clinical investigators in various areas of mental health research and am particularly interested in developing and using statistical methods to address mental health research questions. Through this work, I have come to appreciate the challenges posed by poor mental health and the critical need to better understand and better treat mental illnesses. I know that organizations like NAMI-NYC, that are dedicated to increasing mental health awareness and supporting those with mental illness and their families, are playing an important role in advancing mental health and I am proud to partner with them for the 2022 TCS NYC Marathon.
