NAMI-NYS and NAMI-NYC, the state and local offices of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, are deeply saddened by the shooting in Midtown Manhattan yesterday. We mourn the loss of those who died during this tragic incident, and we recognize the impact of this event not only on their families and colleagues, but all New Yorkers. NAMI stands ready to support everyone impacted by this trauma.
We want to remind New Yorkers that NAMI is there for them in this time of need. NAMI-NYC’s Helpline is available for any mental health questions by phone/text, email, and chat, Monday-Friday, 10AM-6PM: 212-684-3264.
We can direct you to free NAMI-NYC programs or to a NAMI affiliate near you. We also support workplaces during difficult times, including after a traumatic event. We are here to provide consultation, training, and other support.
