The study, led by Elizabeth Thomas, is sponsored by the Administration for Community Living / National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research. It will expire in August 2025. The study aims to pilot a peer-delivered intervention to assist young adults (18-30) with serious mental illness (SMI) in making decisions about community participation, such as working, attending school, or socializing.
Participants will meet virtually on Zoom with a peer decision coach to discuss a specific decision they are facing and explore ways to enhance their decision-making process. Two virtual research interviews will be conducted—one before and one after the study intervention—spanning approximately 1-3 months.
Compensation is provided: $25 for the baseline interview and $30 for the post-interview.
