Sometimes, it feels like no one understands what you’re going through. Whether you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, we have programs just for teens ages 14-18.
NAMI-NYC’s teen programs are always free, confidential, often virtual–and led by near peers (someone close in age with lived experience). Teens talk to their friends first for advice and support, so we’ve equipped trained near peers to answer your calls on the Helpline and facilitate our new support group.
Chat with Our Teen Helpline: Teens ages 14–18 can reach out to our Helpline to talk with peers close to their age who truly understand. Ask your mental health questions and share what’s on your mind—our Helpline is here to listen.
Join Connection Corner (Teen Support Group): Our virtual, weekly teen support group is facilitated by peers close in age, offering a space to connect and find community. Sessions are free and no registration is required.
Bring Mental Health Awareness to Your School: Request our Ending the Silence presentation to learn about mental health, how to help your friends, and ask for help when you need it. Funded in part by The Connor Sheehan Fund.
Request A Speaker: The NAMI-NYC team can provide an overview presentation of its youth peer support programs or table at community outreach events focused on youth and/or their family members and friends. Submit request.
Download our guide. Jump into our comprehensive youth guide to learn more about mental health resources at your fingertips.
Youth Mental Health Advisory Group: Help shape NAMI-NYC’s teen programs and connect with others who care. Open to teens, caregivers, and professionals. All meetings are virtual. Submit interest form.
Youth Council (Ages 14–18): Develop your leadership! If you’re passionate about mental health, join this teen-led council to share your perspective and take action to raise mental health awareness. Express your interest.
Near-Peers Volunteer (Ages 18–30): Been there, get that. Support teens by sharing your lived experience and offering relatable guidance, including facilitating a support group or responding to Teen Helpline calls. Apply now.
